Frequently Asked Questions:

How much will my treatment cost me?
You may be responsible for a certain percentage of what the insurance company deems as the “allowed amount” for a certain medication or service, as well as your co-payment for doctor visits, treatment, and adjustments on your medication. Some insurance companies may also charge you a co-payment for lab work. Co-payments are due at the time of service. If you have any specific questions regarding your insurance coverage, we encourage you to contact your insurance company.

When will I be billed?
You will not be billed for services until after your insurance company(s) pays us. In some cases, you may not receive a statement from us until several months after you visit our office. Statements are sent at the beginning of every month and are due upon receipt.

What if my finances do not allow me to pay my bill in full?
We are sensitive to financial complications that sometimes occur during times of illness. Our knowledgeable Billing Specialists will work with you to make payment arrangements on your account if you are unable to pay in full. We also offer a monthly payment plan.

I don’t understand my bill.
Our Billing Specialists are available at The Zangmeister Center to answer any questions from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday by calling (614) 383-6005.

What if my insurance changes?
If your insurance coverage changes during the course of your treatment or at any time, we ask that you notify us immediately. Always bring your current insurance card with you.

Cancer Patient Education

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

yogaWe believe it’s important that our cancer patients have as much information and preparation as possible prior to chemotherapy treatment. As a result, every patient for whom their physician recommends chemotherapy is scheduled for a one-on-one consultation with one of our Nurse Practitioners. This 60-90 minute individualized education session reviews specific information about treatment drugs, side effects and symptom management. We strongly encourage patients to bring a family member or loved one to this session.

Diagnostic Imaging

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

16Accurate diagnoses and effective individualized treatment plans often require a combination of comprehensive diagnostic and imaging tests. The Zangmeister Center provides diagnostic imaging so that we can quickly determine the physical characteristics and implications of a patient’s condition. And because everything we need is right here, there’s no need for patients to travel between offices and hospitals for imaging.

The Zangmeister Center has a variety of radiologic technologies available including:

* CT Scans
* PET/CT Scans
* Bone Mineral Density
* X-Ray
* Nuclear Medicine studies, including: Bone Scans, Liver/Spleen Scans, MUGA Scans.

Clinical Trials

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

16Access to the most advanced treatments depends heavily on strong clinical trial programs. The Zangmeister Center is an active participant in a broad range of research studies in cooperation with pharmaceutical companies, The Gynecologic Oncology Group and The National Cancer Institute’s Cooperative Groups (including Southwest Oncology Group and the Eastern Cooperative Group), through the Columbus Community Clinical Oncology Program. Clinical trials give patients broader access to new treatment options and are essential to our mission of providing the most advanced care available to the patients we serve. In addition to providing promising alternatives to our patients today, these studies can dramatically improve the prognoses for generations of future oncology patients.
