Sheryl-FreeseMs. Freese is a graduate of Grant Hospital School of Nursing and received her Master of Science in Nursing from Otterbein College. An oncology certified registered nurse with over 25 years of oncology experience, she was coordinator of the outpatient chemotherapy program for The Ohio State University Department of Gynecologic Oncology before joining The Zangmeister Center as a Patient Care Coordinator. Ms. Freese is a member of Oncology Nursing Society, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nurses.

16Accurate diagnoses and effective individualized treatment plans often require a combination of comprehensive diagnostic and imaging tests. The Zangmeister Center provides diagnostic imaging so that we can quickly determine the physical characteristics and implications of a patient’s condition. And because everything we need is right here, there’s no need for patients to travel between offices and hospitals for imaging.

The Zangmeister Center has a variety of radiologic technologies available including:

The gynecologic oncologists working at the Zangmeister Center specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the female reproductive organs. Following referral from another treating physician, our practice may provide consultation and management of complex benign gynecologic conditions as well.

We are experienced in the use of surgery, radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy as required. In certain cases, our physicians may choose laser treatments, laparoscopy or the DaVinci Robotic system in selecting the most appropriate treatment modality for each patient.

Ming Zeng, M.D., Ph.D.

zengDr. Zeng received his M.D. from The Military Medical College in Xian, China, and earned his Ph.D. in molecular biology and genetics from the University of Guelph, Canada. After serving his residency in therapeutic radiology at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, and in the Medicine Department at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia, he completed his fellowship in the Radiation Oncology Department at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. An attending physician in the Radiation Oncology Department at Mount Carmel Health System, Dr. Zeng is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology & Oncology and Columbus Community Clinical Oncology Program.

Jeffrey Zangmeister, M.D.

He completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in hematology and oncology at The Ohio State University Hospital. Board certified in internal medicine and oncology, Dr. Zangmeister is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, Community Oncology Alliance, Franklin County Academy of Medicine, Columbus Community Clinical Oncology Program, Columbus Medical Association, The Ohio State Medical Association, and the Ohio Hematology Oncology Society.

P. Kothai Sundaram, M.D.

sundaramDr. Sundaram is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She received her M.D. from Coimbatore Medical College in India, where she completed a rotatory internship. Dr. Sundaram completed a clinical rotatory externship at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, where she also completed her residency and internship in internal medicine. Her clinical fellowship was completed in the Division of Hematology & Oncology at the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, Department of Medicine, The Ohio State University, where she was awarded the Amgen Fellow. Dr. Sundaram is a member of the American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Community Oncology Alliance, Columbus Medical Association, The Ohio State Medical Association and the Ohio Hematology Oncology Society.

Chris A. Rhoades, M.D.

rhoadesDr. Rhoades is a former assistant professor of clinical internal medicine in the Division of Hematology & Oncology at The Ohio State University, and served as medical director of the Hematology and Medical Oncology Outpatient Clinic and Chemotherapy Unit at The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Dr. Rhoades received his M.D. from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where he completed his internship and residency at the Department of Internal Medicine. He completed his fellowship at the Division of Hematology & Oncology in the OSU Department of Internal Medicine. He is board certified in medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. A member of Community Oncology Alliance, Columbus Medical Association, The Ohio State Medical Association and the Ohio Hematology Oncology Society, Dr. Rhoades was named in 2005 as one of Columbus, Ohio’s “Best Doctors” by Columbus Monthly.

On Call Coverage

Your physician will be on call for you during the week. On weekends, vacations and holidays, our physicians rotate on-call duties.

Our business hours are 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM. If you have an emergency after regular business hours, on weekends or on holidays, you may contact our answering service at (614) 383-6000. The answering service will immediately contact the physician on call.

  • Please fill out all questionnaires. A detailed history helps us provide the best care.
  • Know your insurance benefits. We will assist you with the necessary pre-certifications or other insurance issues.
  • Please notify us 24 hours in advance for medication refills.
  • Please allow us 2 weeks to complete any forms you need from us.
  • Please bring your insurance cards with you.
  • Please notify us of any insurance changes or any changes in your address.
  • Please know your medications and notify us of any changes.
