Gynecologic Oncology
The gynecologic oncologists at The Zangmeister Cancer Center specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the female reproductive organs.
Chemotherapy and Infusion
More than half of all people diagnosed with cancer receive chemotherapy, a medication designed to kill cancer cells. For millions of people who have conditions that respond well to chemotherapy, this approach helps them to enjoy full, productive lives.
Diagnostic Imaging
Accurate diagnoses and effective individualized treatment plans often require a combination of comprehensive diagnostic and imaging tests.
Genetic Risk Evaluation
Cancer can be sporadic, familial, or hereditary. Hereditary cancers are due to gene mutations which are passed from generation to generation. Understanding which category your cancer falls into will impact your cancer management & medical management for your family members.
Palliative Care
Palliative care is specialized medical care for people with serious illnesses. Sometimes referred to as comfort or supportive care, palliative care is a relatively new medical specialty focused on improving the quality of life for people with serious, chronic and life-threatening illnesses. The goal of palliative care is to prevent or treat the symptoms, side effects and stress of a serious illness.
Benign Hematology
Our physicians see patients with blood disorders that are not related to any type of cancer. These types of disorders fall into the medical specialty known as benign hematology. Many of our doctors have specific board certification in benign hematology. Please do not assume if you are referred to our center that you have a cancer diagnosis.
Molecularly-Targeted Therapy
One of the newest and most advanced ways to help physicians assess your options is to identify the biomarkers – “targets” that are specific to your cancer. Today, tumor profiling, or also called molecular profiling, makes this possible, and at The Zangmeister Cancer Center we use this new oncology service to do just that.
At The Zangmeister Cancer Center we know that support and understanding mean everything to patients battling cancer. That’s why we are sharing patients of The Zangmeister Cancer Center telling their inspiring and courageous stories of how they have managed their cancer while living rich and full lives.
