The Mark H. Zangmeister Center Receives American College of Radiology Accreditation
Designation Awarded to Facilities with High Practice Standards
(Columbus, Ohio) July 17, 2009 – The Mark H. Zangmeister Center, a leading central Ohio oncology and hematology care center, has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in Radiation by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
The ACR, headquartered in Reston, Va., awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice. Board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field conduct the evaluations. They assess the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of facility equipment. The surveyors report their findings to the ACR’s Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report.
“We are so pleased to be included in this elite group of facilities,” said Dr. Mark Thompson, president and managing partner of The Zangmeister Center. “We work hard to offer patients a wide range of the latest and most sophisticated treatment option available anywhere in the world today. The most advanced technology, combined with our experienced and dedicated professionals, guarantees that our patients will receive the best available care.
